From Ronnie Ancona (APA Vice President for Education 2010-14) (via LatinTeach listserv):

I would like to share with you the link to the APA’s newly revised Careers for Classicists booklet. Revised by Ken Kitchell, with the help of the APA Education Committee, it is designed for students, teachers at all levels, administrators, parents etc. who would like information about what one can do with a classics degree. You can download the entire booklet for free as a pdf or consult it section by section online. In addition, a print version will appear shortly that can be purchased at minimal cost, in case you want a slightly fancier image.

I think this is of interest to all, whether we’re sponsoring a Classics club or mentoring undergraduates. One chart within the booklet is particularly sobering:

few jobs, many candidates

It’s a competitive world out there — how can we better prepare our students?
